Senior Instructor Shawn Massoni Receives COS Awards

Shawn Massoni, Senior Instructor in the Microbiology department, received two Teaching and Advising Awards at the College of Science Awards ceremony on February 29.

Massoni received the Whiteley Faculty Scholar Award for Teaching Excellence Award and the Fred Horne Award for Sustained Excellence in Teaching Science.

The Fred Horne Award recognizes and honors a faculty member in the College of Science "who has repeatedly demonstrated exceptional instructional qualities and has had a significant impact on students" over a period of five years or more. The Whiteley Faculty Scholar Award is given to faculty who demonstrate "excellent teaching and learning innovation that advances Oregon State University’s retention and completion goals through strategic use of new endowed positions."
