PhD Student Kelly Shannon Featured in Eos, AGU’s Newsletter

Microbiology’s PhD student Kelly Shannon has had his first paper, for which he is also first author, featured by the American Geophysical Union in their newsletter, Eos.

The paper focuses on the microbiological changes associated with the migration of North American beavers from boreal forests to the Arctic tundra in Alaska. Kelly researched the microbial communities of beaver pond sediments in tundra ecosystems and compared them to other Arctic regions untouched by beavers.
