Please join us in congratulating Dr. Aimee Reed, Fish Health Manager with ODFW Fish Health Services and an OSU Microbiology Alumni (PhD 2014 Jin Lab) on receiving the Bill Wingfield Memorial Award in Fish Culture presented at the annual Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society meeting in Eugene on March 2nd, 2023. This was given in recognition of being the first to describe thiamine deficiency in Oregon, in steelhead and to offer a remedy. These findings have vast implications for the health and survival of hatchery fishes, but also for wild ocean populations especially in light of the changing climate and ocean conditions and all the Chinook losses since 2020 in California.
