Waiving Pre-Req or Co-Req Override

I do not meet the course restrictions but am asking for an exception to be able to register.

MB and BHS courses have a strict policy on “waiving” course requirements. The department does not approve pre-requisite overrides, as the pre-requisites have been deemed essential to be successful in the course. Class level, major, and minor restrictions are not waived on a student by student basis. Ecampus Early Access Override

I am a Corvallis student and I wish to request access to enroll in an Ecampus course BEFORE the Monday Week 10 opening.

Corvallis campus students are able to enroll in available Ecampus course seats on Monday Week 10 at 6am (PST.) (Be sure to read the course notations on the Schedule of Classes, as a small portion of classes will stay limited to Ecampus students even after this date.) Limited exceptions are available to on-campus students to enroll prior to Monday Week 10 @ 6am (PST), but they must meet strict criteria set by the registrar’s office.

Examples include:

International exchange/study abroad.
Active service members/veteran students who need access to an Ecampus section due to deployment, are currently out of state, or otherwise unable to attend Corvallis courses.
Next term is a student’s final term and the course is only offered online.
Student is graduating in next 2-3 terms, and the requested course is a key pre-requisite for a course in the final term or two, of which there is no on-campus option

To petition for Ecampus Early Access

Step 1: Complete the Ecampus Early Access Request Form (Opens Week 3)
Step 2: Connect with your academic advisor to discuss possible adjustments to your plan to complete your requirements. Often, there are adjustments you can make to your plan that will not impact your degree timeline. Completing this form does not guarantee a seat in the course.
Step 3: Monitor your OSU Email for response to your request.

Capacity Override

I would like entry into a MB or BHS course that is full.

The Department of Microbiology (MB & BHS courses) provides a form for students to be able to communicate a degree progression or graduation need for a course. In some cases this is paired with the OSU waitlist procedures.

Step 1: Register for the waitlist (if there is no waitlist or waitlist is full skip this step)
Step 2: Complete the Request for Access to Full Course Form
Step 3: Connect with your academic advisor to discuss possible adjustments. Waitlisting a course and completing this form does not guarantee a seat in the course. Contact your academic advisor to discuss possible adjustments to your plan to complete your requirements. Often, there are adjustments you can make to your plan that will not impact your degree timeline.
Step 4: Monitor your OSU Email for response to your request. Requests are reviewed each Tuesday Week 9, 10, & 11.
